What is VOC? VOC stands for Volatile Organic Compounds. These are solvents found in some deep-acting stone cleaners and sealers.
Why is there a levy? It is a statutory environmental levy. It is intended to create incentives to reduce solvent emissions and protect air quality.
Why do customers pay it? The levy is charged by the state directly on the product concerned. We show it transparently in the shop so you can see exactly how the price is made up.
Are there alternatives? Yes! Water-based stone care products are VOC-free. No levy applies, you save money, and they are just as gentle on the environment as on your stone.
